A trendier work wardrobe

For many of us, finding two things that even vaguely go together, let alone make us look work-ready, is quite the challenge – especially since, let’s face it, there is nowhere near enough time to get ready in the morning no matter how early we get up. But with a tiny bit of creative flair, your work outfit can be a lot more interesting than a plain pair of trousers and the most boring top known to man. Here are some simple wardrobe ideas that will make the morning dash a little less painful.

Midi dress and skinnies

Dress over jeans

The cold weather has set in and if you live in the UK, frankly you probably didn’t get all that much use out of your summer dresses anyway. Fortunately there’s still a way for you to break out your favourite colours and styles before confining them to the summer box for next year – team them up with a pair of skinnies and heels or narrow trousers for a relaxed work look that’s easy to wear and super flattering. There are so many variants of this look that you can actually use it over and over with every pair of jeans you own. Try it with skinnies and boyfriend jeans. If they’re not cropped, roll them. Wear it with boots or heels. Make it your own.

Super feminine but covering up and keeping out the cold – yes, it’s possible! Fashion website ‘Who What Wear‘ tells us:

“Knee-high (particularly slouchy) leather boots are the shoes that look best with long dresses. Whether paired with a floaty, printed, or asymmetrical dress, their substantial weight is what grounds the pretty frock and creates a cool contrast.”

Wide trousers and roll neck

This is such an easy relaxed style, yet it’s smart enough for work and always looks on trend. Above source: Aakasha

Finally, don’t forget your accessories but don’t overdo it! Keep accessories to a minimum, with one or two chic pieces of jewellery or a stylish watch. Or combine a plain chunky bangle with some plain threader earrings to make a chic style statement that doesn’t distract.
